Ed Sheeran's upcoming character in animated TV series The Simpsons will feature in a cartoon La La Land spoof.
The Shape of You singer revealed he'd be part of an upcoming The Simpsons episode on Monday (17Jul17), and now reports suggest his character, Brendan, will be a love interest for Lisa Simpson.
Sources tell Entertainment Weekly, Sheeran will guest star on a musical-themed episode called Haw-Haw Land.
Sheeran will sing a little in the episode, impressing saxophone-loving Lisa with his talents.
The role is a dream come true for Ed, who appeared as a singing soldier in the seventh season premiere of Game of Thrones on Sunday night (16Jul17) - he's a longtime fan of The Simpsons and even has a tattoo of the show's three-eyed fish, Blinky.
Executive producer Al Jean tells Entertainment Weekly, "We had a perfect part for him... so we said, 'Oh, great, we'll have him do this!' And we recorded him over the phone from England."
