Ed Sheeran is planning to release a "lo-fi" album inspired by Bruce Springsteen's 1982 album Nebraska.
The Boss famously recorded the acclaimed album while working on demos for a project with The E Street Band and decided to release it as a fanfare-free solo disc.
Sheeran admits he had never really listened to the album until Game of Thrones star Kit Harington turned him onto it earlier this year - and now he loves the simplicity of the recording.
"My plan is a lo-fi album that will be my lowest-selling, but most loved," he tells Billboard.
"(Kit and I) had a night out in New York, got back to his hotel to drink more, and he played (Nebraska track) Atlantic City. Then, when I heard Nebraska..."
But fans shouldn't hold their breaths for Ed's follow-up to his hit album Divide: "It could be out next year or it could take four," he says.
