R&B star Chris Brown has been given five weeks to resolve his dispute with prosecutors over allegations he provided poor documentation of his court-ordered community service hours.
Prosecutors claim the Kiss Kiss hitmaker lied about serving his 180 days of community labour in Virginia by misreporting his hours after they allegedly found a number of inconsistencies in a write-up prepared by police officers in Richmond.
Brown, who was handed the punishment as part of his conviction for his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, vehemently denied the accusations and appeared in court in April (13) for a probation review hearing in Los Angeles.
His lawyers won a continuance on the case after requesting more time to review new evidence, and on Monday (10Jun13) a judge urged both parties to reach a settlement or return on 15 July (13) for a preliminary violation hearing.
