I was always a Bavis and Butthead fan. I actually used to imitate it in school, like a lot. I Hey Bavis, look at that chick over there, a young Hollywood. What's up guys? Nicki Novack here for Young Hollywood in the studio with the very rebellious Rob A. Oh no, just kidding. This is a minion. Do you understand? Do you understand? Here with the Rebellious Rob A. You're like King Rebellion. Can you sort of, for people who might not know what that is, do you want to explain it?

Uh, I built that build for the Rebellion as me as an artist who's stepping out and being a voice for other people who feel like they're rebels in the music business. Uh given that I'm a writer as well, you know, people have expectations on my work, so I'm I was sort of rebelling in the regard that people get to know me for my music as an artist versus what I can do as a creator. A lot of our greatest rebels in history are are responsible for a lot of the changes uh of what we do in modern day culture. Everybody has expectations, but we'll all be born if nobody took chances.

Who's somebody like right now that you would say is a rebel that actually made it?

Um, definitely Chris Brown. Um, I was privileged to get a chance to write for him on many songs. Forever. And got a Grammy nom.

He you're being very humble right now. You've been nominated for three Grammys.

Yeah, three. I'm uh it's crazy within such a short matter of time um that feeling of that quick success where I was still working a job. Like, you know, I was working at like a Circuit City at the time.

I was looking at your Twitter. Yeah. Beavis and Butthead?

Yeah, I love Beavis and Butthead.

What do you think of the new the new

I love it. I mean, I'm I was always a Beavis and Butthead fan. I actually used to imitate it in school.

Wifey material. Wifey material. Who's the inspiration for that?

I think a lot of uh the women that I encounter, I guess, throughout, you know, my day-to-day. It's one of those things where that, you have the qualities I love, but I can't choose you yet because I'm not sure. So, I'm just going to tell you you are wifey material because you have these things that I love. I see the story as a whole. Like, I don't just try to write a cool song. Oh, let me write a cool song people like. I write something like, I feel like this feels like a party or I feel like this is a a struggle or I feel like this is an event. This is where I get my inspiration at when I'm trying to be normal like a normal person. Because sometimes you get your inspiration just being outside, just telling stories, because we all have our own story of how we got here and wanted to start doing music. I think the biggest thing is always remembering where you came from, you know, because it keeps you grounded and it helps remind you of, you know, of why you do what you do. I'm not like an outdoor person to be honest, like the great outdoors, but this is good enough. Like, you got a tree.

But it's great that the place you go to work is so earthy, I guess. And like you feel like it's not just city and traffic and, you know, technology. It's like real life and you know. What's your goal? Where do you where would you love to see yourself in like a couple years?

Um, really pretty much everywhere. Um, but most people don't know about me that my original aspiration was that being an actor. Like, I always wanted to be in movies. I would love to work with Will Smith in a movie. He's freaking hilarious and um, Um, I actually was working with Willow at the Boom Boom Room, and um, he was there uh, you know, meeting everybody who's working with Willow for her project. And it was really cool. He's very down to earth. Great guy. Like, he's just wants obviously the best for his daughter, but

You wrote Disturbia as well. Yeah. How was Rihanna?

She Rihanna's incredible. She's like such a sweetheart. I mean, she's always been very inviting. We've had Super Bowl parties and stuff. Like, she's just the most fun person.

What's it like when you when you write something, it's a passion of yours, and then you hear it like on the radio for the first time or?

It was crazy because when I first heard wifey material on the radio, like I was in shock. Somebody's like, "Yo, your song's on the radio." I was like, "No, it's not." And I was just listening to it and I hear and we turn the monitors up and it's playing. I usually have like a good uh feeling about certain songs. And that day, I was like, that I feel like something's going to happen today. I remember telling my manager, like I think you should just imagine then 10 Grammys and then it'll happen. 10 Grammys is good. I got three nods so far, but I want to actually win the I want to win one.
