Billie Eilish's 'Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour': A Perspective From The Front Row!
Picture this.
The talented Billie Eilish is about to wrap her 5th sold-out show at Sofi Stadium/Kia Forum. Her brother, Finneas, is slated to open the show.
The lights are dim, the fans are starting to trickle in the stadium and fill up the pit area. Employees use a yellow tape to barricade fans into filling up the front row first and so on. Every minute that goes by, the fans start chanting Billie’s name, and all you can hear throughout the whole stadium is “Billie! Billie!…”
As we all wait patiently for her to make her appearance, a pre-recorded video of Billie’s voice comes on promoting the various eco-friendly projects she’s a part of and how to make the world a better place by reducing pollution. After watching this, it’s very evident how much she supports climate change and vegan food products. She then goes on talking about how even the materials of her merch are also eco-friendly.
At this moment, the fog lights are on and the fans continue to chant Billie’s name. Immediately after, a section starts doing the wave and goes on throughout the whole stadium. The wave mob takes place two to three times all around the stadium. The lights get dimmer, and all of a sudden, people take their phones out and light up the stadium as everyone dances to a variety of dance music. I look around and even production employees are dancing and lighting up their phones with excitement.
The lights turn off and Finneas did not disappoint with his opening numbers. His lyrics and songs are so heartfelt that it had some of the audience members in tears. Now, for the moment we have been waiting for…Billie!
From the moment Billie presented herself on stage, she has the whole audience mesmerized. Lots of zooms on her face and gorgeous eyes. Everytime she licks her lips, the audience screams. She's dressed in a sporty jersey with a black and red L.A. Dodger hat. There is a moment where all she does is stare at the audience for a good minute... making sure she sees each side. We’re definitely feeling the dark hair, Billie.
The whole thing seems like a blur as we are all mesmerized by Billie. She sings all her hit songs, including “Birds of a Feather" and "What Was I Made For”, just to name a few. She also surprises us with her rendition of the Christmas classic "O Holy Night", because she talked about how much she loves Christmas. She also introduces us to her parents, who came to the show.
Someone throwa a bra on the floor by the stage as Billie is singing one of her songs. The crowd is jumping up and down and all phones are out recording. The crowd is very upbeat. There is a moment when Billie asks the audience to stay silent for a minute as she sings, and then immediately after the minute is up, everyone screams.
Billie brings out her two childhood friends, Jane and Ava, on stage to sing background for her throughout her tour. She says they had been singing for a very long time, lost touch, and are now back in touch... ”The way it’s supposed to be,” Billie says. She ends the show with Finneas and says she’s excited for what’s to come next year. She comments on how much she loves her brother.
In all the concerts I’ve attended, I’ve never experience an artist quite like Billie. Someone who uses her platform to only raise awareness to causes such as eco-friendly ways we can improve pollution, climate changes, vegan cuisine choices, introduces her behind the scenes production crew through camera close ups, her band and everything she cares about. Thank you, Billie, for helping make this world a better place while entertaining us in the process.
