Beyonce and Justin Bieber look set for glory at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards after scoring five nominations each.
The Halo singer is nominated for Best Video for Formation, Best Female, Best Live Act and Best Look and she will compete against Justin in the Biggest Fans category. He also scored nods for Best Song for Sorry, Best Male, Best Pop and Best Canadian Act. They are closely followed by Adele, who scored four nominations.
Justin will compete for Best Song against Adele's Hello, Lukas Graham's 7 Years, I Took A Pill In Ibiza (Seeb Remix) by Mike Posner and Work by Rihanna featuring Drake.
Other Best Female nominees including Adele, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Sia, while the shortlist male equivalent features Calvin Harris, Drake, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd.
Beyonce's Formation video will compete against Coldplay's Up&Up, Kanye West's controversial clip Famous, Tame Impala's The Less I Know the Better and Starboy by The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk, while Justin Bieber will compete against ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez in the Best Pop category, which also features Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, Rihanna, and Shawn Mendes.
Zayn Malik earns a solo mention for Best UK & Ireland Act and will go head-to-head with his ex-fiancee Perrie Edwards' band Little Mix, who also compete with Adele, Coldplay, and Years & Years.
The winners will be revealed on 6 November (16) at the Ahoy Rotterdam center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
