When the red carpet gets rolled out, we expect to see celebrities making appearances in bold, lavish outfits. Usually, that applies primarily to women. Every awards show, it's easy to lose track of how many men are just wearing standard black suits. Colman Domingo, however, is a spectacular exception. The Emmy-winning actor, who was nominated for an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a SAG Award for his performance in Rustin, went above and beyond with his outfits this Awards Season, and we love him for it. 1. January 4, 2024: Palm Springs Film Awards

Domingo was awarded the Spotlight Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January. He walked the carpet at the awards ceremony wearing a monochrome Zegna ensemble. The outfit is sleek and professional, and the color tone perfectly suits the desert atmosphere of the festival. The silhouette of a monochrome outfit is important. 5. February 24, 2024: SAG Awards

At the 30th annual SAG awards, Domingo was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for Rustin and as well as Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture for The Color Purple. He graced the event in a fashion-forward Off-White brand suit. With a light pink hue and criss-cross black straps, this is not your traditional suit. 9. March 10, 2024: Oscars Vanity Fair Party

Last, but certainly not least, Domingo’s look following the Oscars, at the annual Vanity Fair party, where he wore a bejeweled Balmain coat designed to resemble a woman’s face. Under the glittering coat, he wore a black mesh shirt and straight-legged black pants. The look is creative and visually intriguing, enticing without distracting anyone from the statement piece coat.
