Independence Day: Resurgence actress Joey King is praying for her sister after she was hit by a truck on Tuesday (11Oct16).
The young star shared the sad news on Instagram on Wednesday (12Oct16), revealing sister Kelli was hit while cycling to work.
"My sister Kelli was in a terrible accident where she was hit by an 18 wheeler semi-truck while bicycling to work yesterday morning," Joey wrote. "She’s in great hands and is on the road to recovery. I’m just unbelievably grateful that she’s alive. Please keep her in your thoughts."
Kelli has since posted a photo of herself and sister Hunter in hospital. In the accompany caption, the lucky cyclist wrote: "Thank you for all the well wishes everyone! I am so thankful to be alive and on the road to recovery."
