Christmas season is upon us! Though we look forward to it the entire year, sometimes, in the moment, it can feel like all the traditions are a bit overdone and the classic movies have become seriously over-watched. If you don’t want to stick to the same old movies on repeat, we've got a list of underrated Christmas movies that are sure to get you in the holiday mood!

1. Love Hard

This Netflix Original stars Nina Dobrev playing a love-starved woman who travels to a small town to meet her online boyfriend, Josh, for Christmas… only to realize she’s been catfished. She agrees to stay at Josh’s house for the holidays to make his parents happy as long as he helps set her up with the guy whose pictures he used for his dating profile. As they continue the ruse, she ends up realizing that she loves Josh, as it was his personality she fell for, not just his looks. This movie is so cute and was not as hyped as it should’ve been. 2. Let It Snow

This movie was mostly likely pitched to Netflix as a teenage version of Love, Actually set in a small Midwestern town. Three seemingly unconnected stories about love and friendship end up coming together in the end. The film is based on a novel by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and Maureen Johnson, so if you like any of those authors, you might enjoy the adaption of their three intertwined stories. Nobody really talks about this movie anymore, but it is a solid holiday flick that you should definitely put on your list! (Stream on Netflix)

3. The Knight Before Christmas

Something about Vanessa Hudgens starring in a Christmas rom-com always hits. This movie is no different. When a medieval knight travels to the modern day, Hudgens’s character, a woman who no longer believes in love, takes him in and helps him fit into the Christmas-y winter town. Obviously, they end up falling in love. There’s nothing groundbreaking about this movie, but it is super enjoyable to watch, especially if you love a bit of fantasy mixed into your romance. 4. Office Christmas Party

This R-rated comedy stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, and Kate McKinnon – what more do you need to know? In order to secure a client and avoid getting his branch shut down, Josh (Bateman) must throw an unforgettable office Christmas party. This movie is hilarious and the perfect easy-to-watch comedy that you crave around the holidays. (Available on VOD/Digital)

5. Holidate

This raunchy rom-com definitely isn’t fit to watch with the family, but is perfect if you’re hanging out with a group of friends and want to put on a unique rom-com that doesn’t follow Hallmark tropes. In this film, two strangers make an agreement to be each other’s plus ones for every holiday, since they’re tired of facing the holidays alone. What starts as a semi-fake-dating scenario turns into real feelings. Emma Roberts stars in this film, giving a charming and funny performance. Holidate is cute and quirky and definitely one to add to your list. (Stream on Netflix)
