May is Asian-American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and one of the easiest ways you can support members of the community is by checking out some AAPI musicians! There are plenty of Asian and Pacific Islander artists that are making waves throughout the world, and now is the perfect time to get into their music before they become the next big thing. Here are five artists that should be on your radar!

1. Hayley Kiyoko (Japanese)

If you grew up watching Disney Channel, you’ll probably recognize Hayley Kiyoko from her role as Stella in Lemonade Mouth! Now she makes fun pop music that’s guaranteed to get you on your feet, and she often discusses her experiences as a lesbian navigating romance. Her newest single, “Found My Friends”, has a fun retro flair and an equally stunning music video.

2. Dominic Fike (Filipino)

Dominic Fike is making waves after his newest album, What Could Possibly Go Wrong, came out last year, and he’s also appeared on tracks like Halsey’s “dominic’s interlude” and Remi Wolf’s “Photo ID”. His unique style blends elements of hip-hop and rock to make awesome songs you won’t forget. It’s the perfect soundtrack for chill summer nights!

3. EVERGLOW (Korean)

EVERGLOW’s sassy, exciting music will have you feeling confident even on your low days! They debuted just over two years ago and will be making a comeback later this month, most likely gearing up for their third single album or their first full-length album. Now is one of the best times to start stanning them!

4. Alex Aiono (Samoan and Maori)

Alex Aiono started his career posting covers to YouTube, and he’s since gotten over 980 million views! He released his first original single, “Doesn’t Get Better”, in 2013, and he finally released his full-length debut album last summer. His original music draws from his talent on piano and guitar, and it’s guaranteed to become your new feel-good soundtrack!

5. Olivia Rodrigo (Filipina)

If you aren’t already in love with Olivia Rodrigo’s music, you’re missing out! Olivia has already gotten cosigns from Taylor Swift and Cardi B, and she’s releasing her debut album, Sour, later this month. Her lyrics are especially reminiscent of Lorde and paint such a vivid picture of what she’s going through.
