11 Talented Artists Who Have Never Won a Grammy!

Written by AnnMary Mailyan. Published: February 07 2023

The biggest and most prominent event in the music industry took place this past Sunday (February 5), but the debates and discussions are just getting started. People still celebrate their favorite artists winning, recap the magnificent occasion of the year, or remember all the past Grammys, comparing the nominations, winners, outfits of the guests, funny or sweet moments, etc. So we decided to dedicate a post to 11 amazing performers who have amazingly never won a Grammy. We’re sure that you’re definitely going to say, “What? No way!” to most of the artists featured below. Check the list and see which one surprises you the most!

1. Miley Cyrus

The “Flowers” performer has come a long way since her Disney days. Miley has released 7 studio albums with many hit singles. She was nominated for Grammys twice, for albums Bangers and Montero, but she has never won. Let’s hope that Cyrus’s new album Endless Summer Vacation, which will drop on March 10, will bring her that desired Gramophone Trophy!

2. Snoop Dog

One of the OG-est rappers has been nominated 16 times but has shockingly never managed to win a Grammy. How insane is that?! Calvin Broadus, better known as Snoop Dog, was first nominated in 1994 for Best Rap Performance, and his last nomination came in 2016 for Album of the Year. We’re sure that the rap king will still manage to surprise us!

3. Demi Lovato

Another ex-Disney star with only 2 Grammy nominations (Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance) and no wins. Well, at least not yet. It’s hard to imagine someone having such a talented, powerful voice and meaningful songs with no Grammy Awards, but here we are!

4. Katy Perry

You can’t possibly look back on the good ol' 2000-2010s without thinking about at least a couple of Katy Perry bops. Her legacy is impressive -- she’s had 13 Grammy nominations but unfortunately has never won. Katy, we’re waiting for justice to triumph!

5. Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj walked so other female rap artists could run! Minaj is a modern-day rap queen, with her unique style, catchy songs, and awesome music videos. Nicki has won lots of other awards and has been nominated for Grammys 10 times since 2011 but has also never won the golden statue.

6. ABBA

Have you ever had a New Year’s celebration without listening to ABBA’s famous song “Happy New Year”? We highly doubt it. Can you imagine that the first Grammy nomination for the Swedish quartet was almost 50 years after their first success? They were nominated for the category Record of the Year in 2022, and this year they had another 4 nominations but sadly no victories.

7. Bob Marley

The most popular reggae artist passed away in 1981, but he’s still as loved and popular as ever. Marley never received a Grammy nomination during his life, however he received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001 and later was nominated for the categories Best Music Film and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, but still didn’t win.

8. Sia

Sia doesn’t need no Grammy to have fun tonight, as long as she can feel the beat. The talented singer-songwriter has been providing us with hit after hit for more than 10 years. Her voice and her songs always stand out. But despite having 9 nominations, she has never won one yet. We’re rooting for you, Sia!

9. Camila Cabello

Camila is a relatively newbie in the music industry (at least compared to other artists on this list), however she’s already given us lots of bangers, songs you’ll instantly recognize and sing along to. The former Fifth Harmony member has been nominated 4 times, but we’re 100% sure that Camila will definitely get the golden Gramophone one day soon!

10. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez has been one of our favorite singers and actresses since the early-'00s; we still watch her films and dance to her songs. J.Lo was nominated twice -- in 2000 and 2001 -- both times in the Best Dance Recording category. She hasn’t been active in the musical industry for the past few years, but she’s making a big comeback with her 9th studio album This Is Me… Now, scheduled to be released sometime this year, so we expect some new nominations and, hopefully, victories!

11. Shawn Mendes

One of the most popular celebrity crushes has won millions of hearts but sadly never a Grammy. Mendes was nominated 3 times, twice in 2019, and his latest nomination was in 2020 for the song “Señorita” along with his Camila Cabello. But we’re sure there’s nothing holding Shawn back from coming back with brand new music and achievements!
