Prepare to be #BookedAndBusy!

Some of the most exciting things about the New Year are all the new K-dramas that are finally going to be released! If you are looking for a new show to binge or want to change up your usual go-to, you may find your cup of tea on this list of Korean dramas coming to Netflix this year!

1. "Love to Hate You" (Feb. 10)

“For an attorney who despises losing to men and an A-List actor who distrusts women, love means nothing- until they’re forced to date each other.” Honestly, this drama seems like a heart warmer. I’m all for watching people trying NOT to fall in love, aren’t you? This seems like it’ll be lots of laughs and drama. This show features actors Kim Ok-Bin, who has starred in "Arthdal Chronicles", and Yoo-Teo from "Vagabond". "Love to Hate You" comes out February 10, so if you’re looking for a new show to watch, this might be right up your alley!

2. "King the Land" (Date TBA)

The scoop from Soompi tells us that King the Land is about a “chaebol heir named Gu Won (Lee Jun-ho), who cannot stand fake smiles. He meets Cheon Sa Rang (Yoona), who is always equipped with a bright smile even when she does not want to due to the nature of her profession, and together, the two set out to find happy days in which they can sincerely smile brightly together. 'King the Land' refers to a VVIP business lounge, which is a place of dreams for hoteliers”. In Korea, a chaebol refers to a huge conglomerate business family. So, lots of money and drama lurks right around the corner in this series. Sounds pretty interesting, right?

3. "Destined With You" (Date TBA)

“A drama depicting an irresistible romance between a woman who obtained a forbidden book that was thoroughly sealed 300 years ago and a man who became a victim of the forbidden book.” This drama featured Ro Woon, who has acted in many K-dramas including "The Kings Affection", and actress Jo Bo-Ah, who has appeared in "Tale of the Nine-Tailed". 4. "The Good Bad Mother" (Date TBA)

"The Good Bad Mother" is a drama about a mother, Young Soon (Ra Mi-Ran), who has lived for her child all her life, and her son, prosecutor Kang Ho (Ahn Eun Jin), who suffers amnesia from an unexpected accident and goes back to being a child. This may be a tearjerker but it’s okay, we’ll get through it! You may have seen Ra Mi-Ran in other TV shows like "The Glory", which is pretty popular on Netflix right now, and Ahn Eun-Jin in "Hospital Playlist". Be sure to keep an eye out for this amazing drama.

5. "Daily Dose of Sunshine" (Date TBA)

This K-drama is an adaptation of a webtoon called “Morning Comes to the Mental Ward” and is a healing drama about the many kinds of incidents that take place in a psychiatric ward. Based on the actual real-life experiences of a psychiatric nurse, the drama will revolve around the story of nurse Jung Da-Eun. This K-drama sounds really deep. First, there’s nothing like a webtoon adaptation, and second, it’s based on a true story! But don’t get too worried, you’re in the hands of some fantastic actors & actresses! You may recognize some of them, like the lead actress Park Bo-Young who is famous for her roles in "Strong Girl Do Bong Soon" and "Doom at Your Service", and Yeon Woo-Jin who has previously acted in Netflix’s "Thirty Nine".

6. "Gyeonseong Creature" (Date TBA)

“In the Spring of 1945, a grim era of bitter darkness, a young man and woman struggle for survival while fighting monsters born out of human greed.” Who doesn’t love a period drama? The clothes, the accents, the setting… it’s all a perfect escape, and we're so ready to go back in time, aren't you? This drama features actors Park Seo-Joon of "What’s Wrong with Private Secretary Kim" and Han So-Hee from "Nevertheless"!

7. "Doona!" (Date TBA)

A college student navigates life and school while dealing with a unique predicament -- he’s living with a beautiful former K-Pop sensation! Do I hear Cupid's bow whooshing by? Probably! This seems like the perfect recipe for a very likely love story. Keep an eye out, love birds! Featuring actors Bae Suzy & Yang Se-Jong, you’re in for a treat!

8. "Sweet Home 2" (Date TBA)

Season 1 of "Sweet Home" came out in 2020 amongst other shows like "Squid Game" that created an intense uproar around the world. "Sweet Home" is a Netflix original horror series where "as humans turn into savage monsters and wreak terror, one troubled teen and his apartment neighbors fight to survive -- and to hold onto their humanity.” Yikes, it seems like a lot is going on, so if you haven’t watched Season 1, run, don’t walk! But fair warning: lots of blood and guts, so if that isn’t your thing, tread carefully!

9. "Squid Game" Season 2 (Date TBA)

I mean, honestly, need we say anything else? "Squid Game" was a game changer! Literally! I mean, the sheer genius of all our childhood games turning into a fight for survival?? Prepare to be glued to the TV for Season 2! There are even teasers out on Netflix. Rumor has it, Squid Game will not premiere until the end of 2023, so stay tuned!

10. "Bloodhounds" (Date TBA)

“In order to pay off their debt, three daring youths jump into the money-lending business while confronting the rich and powerful who prey on the weak.” Maybe this’ll be a superhero versus villans story? Definitley seems like it! Featuring actor Woo Do Hwan from "The King: Eternal Monarch" and Lee Sang Yi from "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha", the talented line-up seems to have a lot in store for us.

Our roundup of 2023’s K-dramas ends up here, but be sure to keep a look out for these. If you need something else to watch in the meantime, take a look at some of the other titles these actors and actresses have starred in! Happy watching!
