Who’s been missing in MCU action for over 3 years? It’s been Agatha all along! Or, perhaps you may recognize the series under one of its previous titles that include (all of these are real btw): "Agatha: Darkhold Diaries", "Agatha: House of Harkness", "Agatha: Coven of Chaos", and finally, "Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe". The final title change was the one that clued many people into the changing titles being a marketing scheme, which turned out to be true when the final title was revealed as a reference to the iconic song from "WandaVision". Paired with a September release date, fans have now been eagerly awaiting that trailer and it’s finally here!

The series marks the return of Agatha Harkness, played by the astonishing Kathryn Hahn, who reprises her role from "WandaVision", the first major television series produced by Marvel Studios for Disney+. Since that show first aired on streaming back in 2021, Marvel has decided to separate their efforts in multi-media, as "Agatha All Along" marks the first project released under the new Marvel Television banner. For all intents and purposes, it is still the same studio we know and love making this spinoff series, albeit the rebranding is a wise move to make it clear that this is not required viewing for every single film release, and vice-versa.

Anywho, the trailer takes a giant step away from the sitcom aesthetic of "WandaVision" and delves fully within the realm of horror. It opens up on Agatha driving to the scene of a crime to see a heavily mutilated body with witch fingers — many fans speculate this to be the exact outfit that Wanda wore in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Alas, with the Scarlet Witch gone, Aubrey Plaza’s character Rio Vidal shows up to break Agatha out of the trance Wanda forced her into, leading to an awesome series of morphing between several of her sitcom outfits (even the one in black & white).

Right from the get-go, although the genre is different, it seems like "Agatha All Along" is borrowing the same creative boldness that "WandaVision" had in spades! Jac Schaeffer returns in the showrunner’s chair, and you can already tell how comfortable she is within this world of witches. Yes, for any fans of films like Hocus Pocus and Kiki’s Delivery Service, the amount of witchcraft teased in the trailer is bound to be a high point. The focus of the series seems to be Agatha rounding up some fellow witches to go on a quest to reclaim her magic, because, as a reminder, Agatha saw Wanda using that kind of magic and was like, “Oooh, I like that, it’s mine now!”

Featuring countless encounters with spooky sights galore as Agatha and her crew walking the Witch’s Road (anyone think they’ll have a Starbucks on that road at least?), the trailer seems to know exactly the kind of spooky fun that is ripe for the Halloween season. Are there any zombies present? How much does Westview play a factor into the show? And can we all just appreciate that one shot that’s an homage to E.T. for a sec? This trailer gives us some of those answers, while leaving enough of them un-answered, and I, for one, want to figure them out.

In addition to Hahn and Plaza, the cast also features the "SNL" alum Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp, "Heartstopper" star Joe Locke, and the iconic Patti LuPone!

So yeah, the first trailer for "Agatha All Along" looks like a ghoulishly good time! As long as they give us another rendition of the iconic song that won Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez an Emmy, I know I’ll be happy.

"Agatha All Along" premieres on Disney+ on September 18!
