Miley Cyrus took six years to find the courage to have her long hair cut into a cropped style.
The singer/actress stunned her fans in August (12) when she unveiled her new look and Cyrus admits the crop, inspired by former supermodel Twiggy, was a long time in the making.
The star, who turns 20 on Friday (23Nov12), tells News.com.au she has wanted short locks since she sported the style in an episode of her hit TV show Hannah Montana.
She explains, "I've wanted to cut my hair forever, since probably like six years ago we did an episode where they made my hair look like Twiggy. Ever since I saw that I wanted to do it, but it was just getting the guts to finally take a razor and know that your hair does not grow back overnight. It's not the cutting it that scares you, it's the growing it out.
"It's so worth it, I could never see myself with long, long hair again, it just seems like so much maintenance. This is so easy, so nice."
