Rapper Drake has unveiled plans to take his annual Toronto-based OVO Fest on the road, weeks after he was denied a grant from the Canadian government to fund this year's (15) music event.

The Started From The Bottom hitmaker will host the sixth annual three-day concert bash in his native Toronto in August (15), with a comedy set from Kevin Hart and headlining gigs from Big Sean, J. Cole and Drake himself, but on Sunday (24May15), he revealed the festival may head to a new city in the near future.

Drake made the comments as he kicked off his Jungle Tour in Houston, Texas, as part of his second annual Houston Appreciation Weekend.

He told the crowd, "Look, whichever city has the livest (biggest) fans on the Jungle Tour, I'm bringing OVO Fest to their city in the next couple of years."

The hip-hop star didn't elaborate on the reasons for the change of location, but last month (Apr15), Canadian officials at the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport announced they would not be giving OVO Fest organisers a grant of $300,000 for this summer's event as they had in 2014.
