Beyonce has been named Facebook's most-referenced entertainer of the year.

The superstar, who stunned fans with the surprise release of her self-titled album a year ago, has beaten out Pharrell Williams and Nicki Minaj to the top spot, while Taylor Swift and chat show host Jimmy Fallon round out the top five.

Kim Kardashian, John Legend, Iggy Azalea, Katy Perry and Pitbull all make the top 10.
