Joseph Gordon-Levitt to tackle high-wire role

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is to tackle the role of the real life daredevil featured in Oscar-winning documentary Man On Wire.

The actor has reportedly signed up to play high-wire walker Philippe Petit in To Reach The Clouds, a new film based on the Frenchman's memoirs.

Petit's death-defying stunts were chronicled in James Marsh's Oscar-winning 2008 documentary Man on Wire, which focused on his controversial 1974 high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center.
