Emma Stone is wary of signing up for a theatre role because she regularly loses her voice due to callouses on her vocal cords.

The Help star often struggles to speak due to the ailment, and as a result she's picky about the parts she chooses.

She tells Britain's Shortlist magazine, "I would love to do stage. I grew up doing plays and musicals and improv (improvisation) and sketch comedy on stage. But then I have callouses on my vocal cords, which is why I sound like this (hoarse), so I lose my voice all the time. If I'm able to rectify that in any way, then I'll definitely get back on stage."
