Hip-hop royalty including Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Ludacris have already issued statements praising the rapper/singer and offering words of condolence.
And now Eminem, who worked with Nate Dogg, real name Nathaniel Hale, on several tracks, has paid his own touching tribute.
In a statement to E! Online, he says, "Nate's voice in music will never be replaced. He helped create the blueprint for West Coast hip-hop, and I was one of the lucky people who had the privilege to work with him and the honour to have him as a friend. Nate will be sorely missed. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and loved ones."
The cause of Hale's death is not yet known but the hip-hop star spent the last few years struggling to recover from a series of strokes, which paralysed him down the left side of his body.
