Suicide Squad has been named the worst film of 2016 on Rolling Stone magazine's end-of-year list.

The all-star blockbuster about a gang of comic book villains attempting to save the world 'beat out' Warcraft and Will Smith's critically-panned new film Collateral Beauty to top the publication's countdown, while war film Allied and Tom Hanks' puzzling Inferno also make the top five.

Independence Day: Resurgence, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Ewan McGregor's directorial debut, American Pastoral, feature in the top 10.

Movie musical La La Land recently topped the magazine's annual list of best films.
