Robin Thicke played car crash prank on Paula Patton

Soul star Robin Thicke left his wife Paula Patton "distraught" after pranking the actress and telling her he'd crashed her car, only to surprise the beauty with a brand new vehicle instead.

The Lost Without U singer admits the white lie almost made Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol stunner Patton tear up - until he presented her with the keys to her new ride.

He tells People magazine, "I lied and told my wife I totalled her car. She was distraught, but when I took her to the garage to see it, there was a brand new car I had just bought her instead!"
