Millie Bobby Brown: Actress, Makeup Mogul... Author?!

Millie Bobby Brown has had a meteoric career, from her groundbreaking beginnings on "Stranger Things" to her branching into the beauty industry through her brand Florence by Mills. She has produced films, become a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and made the cover of Vogue despite being only 19, all while continuing to act.

However, Millie’s expansion is not over yet, as she has just announced her authorial debut Nineteen Steps. Her book is not, as celebrity audiences have come to expect, a biography, but rather an historical fiction novel set during World War II; it is an interesting and fresh direction for Brown’s creative career, and something to look forward to this coming Fall!

Nineteen Steps is a fictionalized account of the story of Brown’s grandmother -- “Nanny Ruth”, as Millie refers to her -- living through the war in Britain as a young woman. It centers around, more specifically, her involvement in the 1943 Bethnal Green tube incident -- a crowd crush situation which left 173 people dead. While a tragic situation, Brown has framed her novel around a central love story and the coming-of-age of her 18-year-old protaganist Nellie Morris. It is bound to resonate with Gen-Z audiences, as young people living in particularly chaotic times. The book is being published through HarperCollins imprint William Morrow, an impressive achievement for the already significant star.

Nineteen Steps is set to be released on September 12 of 2023, but Millie Bobby Brown also has some acting projects in the wings. Electric State, the upcoming sci-fi adaptation which she stars in, is set for a 2024 release, and Damsel, her latest fantasy film, is set to come out October 13, just a month after her novel.
