Kim Shattuck is leaving the Pixies less than six months after joining the band.
The bassist joined the group in July (13) following the departure of Kim Deal, but she has now decided to focus her attention on her original group The Muffs.
The star confirmed the news on Friday (29Nov13) via her Facebook.com page, writing, "Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today. Amazing experience.
"Looking forward to focusing my attention back on The Muffs and our upcoming new album. All the best to everyone."

Shattuck joined Pixies for their world tour, which kicked off in France in September (13).
