Kim Kardashian Joins The Next Season of "American Horror Story"!
Kim Kardashian is a businesswoman, a television personality, an advocate for criminal justice reform, and is now an actor entering the Ryan Murphy Cinematic Universe.
On Monday morning (April 10), it was announced that Kardashian would be joining the 12th season of the FX anthology series “American Horror Story” alongside returning star Emma Roberts.
Set for this Summer, the new season will be called “Delicate”, which is partially based on Danielle Valentine’s new book, Delicate Condition, which is expected to release this August. Delicate Condition is a thriller novel about a woman who suspects that there is an ominous person preventing her pregnancy from occurring. Author Rachel Harrisondescribed the story as a “frightening, propulsive read brimming with brutal truths about motherhood, autonomy, and the everyday horror of not being believed.”
Creator Ryan Murphy loves cameos and bringing in unexpected celebrities to his star-studded cast. For instance, he secured Stevie Nicks for the 3rd season, "Coven", Joan Collins for the 8th season, "Apocalypse", and Lady Gaga for the fifth season, "Hotel", which was arguably the catalyst for her eminent movie career. As he did with Gaga, Murphy has designed a character particularly for Kardashian, who will be playing a lead role.
Although Kardashian is no stranger to television, this will be her first major scripted role. She has had cameos on shows such as “30 Rock”, “How I Met Your Mother”, “2 Broke Girls”, and “Drop Dead Diva”. She also made her “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut in 2021, which is said to have made an impression on Murphy. Many viewers were left thoroughly impressed with her confident performance and comedic timing as well, so we’re excited to see how she does in the horror genre!
For the first time in “American Horror Story” history, the season will have one writer and showrunner for each episode: Halley Feiffer. In addition to other writing credits on shows like “Roar” and “Dear Edward”, Feiffer has already written episodes for “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story”,
Although we have no news on other cast members yet, we at least know that Kardashian will join filming in New York City with Roberts, who made her "AHS" debut in Season 3. Since then, Roberts has become a certified “scream queen” and a horror icon. We can’t wait to see them paired together as we await to learn about the legendary role that Kardashian will get to embody as she steps into this spine-chilling series. In a message to The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy said, “Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
