It comes after weeks of speculation about impending pregnancy news from the couple.
Knightley and the Klaxons star tied the knot during a low-key ceremony in France in May last year (13).
The baby news comes after an exciting couple of days for Knightley, 29, who received a Screen Actors Guild nomination on Wednesday (10Dec14) and a Golden Globe nod on Thursday (11Dec14) for her role as a World War II codebreaker in The Imitation Game.
