Kanye West's breakout music video star Teyana Taylor has been cast in new hip-hop TV series The Breaks.
The singer/actress, who hit headlines at the weekend (28Aug16) after starring in the rapper's steamy new promo for Fade, has scored a recurring role in the VH1 drama, which follows three three young friends chasing their hip-hop dreams in New York City in 1990.
The Breaks originally aired as a made-for-TV movie in January (16), and following its success, executives decided to turn the film into a scripted series.
Taylor joins a cast which includes Mack Wilds, Evan Handler, Melonie Diaz, and Afton Willamson.
The R&B singer has also been recruited to appear on VH1's game show Hip Hop Squares, a modern twist on the classic tic-tac-toe game show Hollywood Squares. The new version is being executive produced by Ice Cube and set to premiere this autumn (16).
