Green Day to take break after Australian tour

Green Day have announced plans to take a break following their upcoming tour of Australia.

The American Idiot hitmakers will be touring Down Under in February and March next year (14), but will subsequently take a hiatus to focus on other projects.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong tells Britain's BBC Radio 2, "We're going to Australia, doing a tour there and then we're going to take a break. We haven't really been doing much. So it's just nice to kind of do some other things, you know, when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged."
