Union, 41, and Dwyane Wade have been dating on and off since 2007 and he asked her to marry him just before Christmas (13).
But now comes the news that the basketball superstar became a father again after a romantic encounter with an old friend during a split from Union.
Sources tell news show Entertainment Tonight that the actress was aware of the child before she accepted the Miami Heat star's proposal, and the engaged couple has worked through the issue privately.
Wade, 31, also has two children from his marriage to childhood sweetheart Siohvaughn Funches, which ended in 2007.
