The teenager's father Brandel Shouse is suing the former American Idol winner for psychical and legal custody of their daughter Zion, claiming he is a better parent than Barrino and deserves to be her primary carer.
Barrino has hit back, accusing her former sweetheart of failing to build a relationship with their child or giving her any financial help.
According to TMZ.com, Barrino plans to fight the custody lawsuit and is now seeking child support payments from Shouse.
