The superfan who 'proposed' to Ed Sheeran last week (ends31Oct14) has died.
Terminally ill Katie Papworth passed away on Friday morning (07Nov14), just days after her musical hero accepted her marriage proposal.
Sheeran made her last wish come true on 30 October (14) when he met the teenage cancer patient backstage at a gig in Glasgow, Scotland, and she took the opportunity to present the Lego House singer with an 'engagement' ring, engraved with an infinity symbol.
Sheeran happily accepted her 'proposal', and even signed a piece of artwork she had painted prior to losing her sight, with the caption, "Katie, lovely to finally meet my wife."
Upon hearing Papworth had died, Sheeran tweeted, "So devastated to hear Katie has passed away. Prayers are with her family."
