Bono's wife in quad biking accident

Bono's wife was airlifted to hospital in Costa Rica last weekend (16-17Feb13) after a quad bike accident.

The U2 star and his partner Ali Hewson have been on vacation in the country, but the couple's trip took a turn for the worse on Saturday (16Feb13).

Hewson came off her quad bike and suffered broken ribs. She was taken to a hospital in the capital San Jose by helicopter.

A U2 spokesman states, "Ali had a bike accident while on a family holiday. She sustained a couple of broken ribs and some cuts and bruises, and is recovering very well."
