The Fault With Our Stars' Ansel Elgort and Kingsman: The Secret Service's Taron Egerton will lead director James Cox's cast.
The 1987 TV movie, featuring Brat Pack heartthrob Judd Nelson, was based on the true story of a group of wealthy young men who become murderers.
Elgort will take on Nelson's character, Joe Hunt.
Egerton has a very busy 2016 lined up - he'll play British Olympic ski jumper Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards in a biopic, Robin Hood in an origins movie and he'll also reprise his break-out Kingsman role for a sequel.
