Embattled actress Amanda Bynes has been granted a continuance in her driving on a suspended license case after failing to show up for a Los Angeles court hearing on Tuesday (02Apr13).
The Hairspray star faces two misdemeanours after she was pulled over by police in Burbank, California in September (12).
The case went before a judge on Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing, but the 26 year old, who has pleaded not guilty to the counts, was a no-show and her lawyer Richard Hutton had to request a continuance in the case.
Judge Margaret Oldendorf granted the motion, but stressed the need to move the case forward and set a new pre-trial date for May (13).
Bynes - who has since relocated to New York - is also still facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) relating to a separate motor mishap last year (12), when she was also accused of two counts of hit-and-run. The latter charges were dropped in December (12).
