Taylor Swift takes Thanksgiving Mannequin Challenge to the beach

Taylor Swift offered up her take on the viral Mannequin Challenge as she celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday on the beach.

The pop superstar spent Thursday (24Nov16) hanging out with family and friends, including model pals Martha Hunt, Lily Donaldson and Leah McCarthy, and Broadway actor Todrick Hall, who she recruited for her version of the online craze.

The Mannequin Challenge requires people to stand still, like mannequins, in various positions as the camera pans around, usually to the soundtrack of Rae Sremmurd's Black Beatles hit.

Taylor shot her version of the challenge on the beach, with the singer holding a portable speaker in one hand and her iPhone in the other, while her brother Austin looks out into the distance. Lily and Leah strike a pose on the sand, and Martha and Todrick are frozen as they prepare to take a selfie.

The group manages to hold its positions for a few minutes as its Mannequin Challenge is captured on film, before breaking out into a dance as the beat of Black Beatles drops.

Taylor posted the video on Instagram and simply captioned it, "#mannequinchallenge", before tagging all of her friends in the post.

The stars were joined by Swift's parents, Andrea and Scott, for the traditional Thanksgiving Day meal, with Todrick sharing a photo of the gathering on Instagram.

"Happy Thanksgiving," he wrote beside the image, in which everyone held up their glasses for a toast.

Todrick's presence at Swift's family dinner came a day after Taylor and her brother showed their support for the actor as he graced the stage as drag queen Lola in hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots in New York City.

"Okay. Went to see @todrick in Kinky Boots tonight and you just need to go see it," the singer told her fans on Wednesday night (23Nov16). "Not trying to be bossy. But you need to".

Todrick also shared a snap of Taylor kissing him on the cheek backstage, and wrote, "Thank you @taylorswift for coming to see @kinkybootsbway tonight & being so sweet to each and every cast and crew member, you are a true class act and I am proud to call you my friend. shout out to Austin lookin' sexy in the background!"
