Here we are at Universal City Walk, Kiss of Jam with the wonderful Metro Station. How are you, lads?

We've played three shows today, so it's been kind of a busy day, but, you know. Shake it.

I've got to say, I heard the single, absolutely amazing when I heard it. But I didn't think, you know, I saw you guys, I'm like, wow, they're young. How did all this start and happen so quickly?

Basically, I met Trace Cyrus through his sister. We met on the set of Hannah Montana. My little brother plays Oliver Oken on the TV show Hannah Montana. And then from there we started making music. Found Blake on MySpace, added him in the band. Shortly after, Anthony came along, playing shows around the LA area, and I don't know, uh, fate is the rest, I guess.

You make it sound so easy, and now you got hit singles splashing out of everywhere, so.

Definitely not easy, it was a lot of work. We've been working, we've been working hard. We've been on tour for 15 months, too. So it's not like we just came out of nowhere. We've been going straight, so.

15 months of tour, any nice stories, fun stories we can share with the Young Hollywood viewers?

We were just in Australia, I tried kangaroo. I tried it, too. It was kind of, but it was all right. Don't know if I'm impressed with that one.

You eat kangaroo. I watched kangaroo as a kid. The bald eagle here, right? I mean that would be the kind of like I don't know. So you went to Australia and ate their national animal. That's very nice, lads. And who are your influences? Who made Metro Station sound?

It would definitely be like New Order, Depeche Mode, OMD, Postal Service.

Metro Station just took the stage and absolute pandemonium, man. I come to City Walk a lot, and tonight, I saw this place alive like I had never seen it before.

Yeah, I saw people fainting out there. I saw girls fainting.

They were carrying people out, girls fainting, the band was rocking, it was just unbelievable. Now, it seems to be your whole family is blowing up. I mean, could it get any bigger right now for the Cyrus family?

It's going really well. Hannah Montana's doing fantastic. And had a huge record last year with a song I wrote about her, called Ready Set Don't Go. It was uh, one of the most played songs at radio. You see Trace and all my kids reaching their dreams and living life to their full potential. And most importantly, they love what they're doing, you know. My dad always said, as long as you love what you do for a living, you never have to work another day in your life.
