Hey guys, I'm here at Venice Beach where I'm about to get down to the nitty-gritty with Kimberly Cole.

I'm gonna roll back my sleeves.

We are here with Kimberly Cole.

So I gotta know, when did you start roller skating?

Well, the story goes that I guess my mom when she was little, she had this like nemesis like friend that was like an amazing roller skater and I guess my mom couldn't roller skate.

So I guess her answer to that was, put me, little four-year-old Kimmy in roller skates.

It's so I'm good to go.

Got my foot on the.

Was there a moment that you knew you wanted to be a performer, not only on roller skates, but you wanted to be a singer?

Yes, I remember a time at Disneyland.

I was, there was like, you know, the parade.

And I was that girl who'd get up like in the center, and start like singing.

And those people exist, I don't believe it.

You know, it was me.

I know, embarrassing.

Can you describe your sound to us?

My sound, I would say, is gritty.

I like, um, it's gritty, it's sweet, it's pop soul.

And you have two very talented guys behind you as you were performing.

Tell us about them.

They're your backup roller skaters.

They're my backup like roller dudes.

Yeah, they're so great.

Yeah, they're the roller dudes.

They're crazy talented.

But my goal is definitely to try to put together live performance that that mixes the dancing with the skating, with the the fun.

So yeah, they're the roller dudes, they're the rat.

We like we hang out and we skate.

It's so I'm good to go.

Got my foot on the gas.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, ooh, I see myself, I see myself performing, I see myself writing.

I'd say on my second album, and um, doing as much as I can to get it out there and um, be out there and have me being on people's iPods.

I'm good to go.

So my whole, yeah, my whole career skating.

15 years.

Never hurt myself.

Three months ago, I came here.

Venice.

You get excited, there's people, you wanna like show off.

And I guess there was a big crack in the sidewalk.

And I was skating backwards and everyone's like, yeah, look at that girl.

I totally fall.

Like not only fall, we have it on camera.

I like snap folded my wrists back and I was so embarrassed and I was in shock and I was trying to still be cute at the same time but it wasn't working.

And they have it on tape and I've watched it and it's not cute.

Step it up and keep it moving.

Yeah.
