Welcome to younghollywood. com. I wanted to take a moment to talk to you about a band that we signed to our label called Iron Works, and the name of the band is Billy Boy on Poison. I'm Oliver Trevena in lovely Los Angeles with Billy Boy on Poison on my way, their first single. I'm sitting at your back porch, baby. Come on to your door. Great single. Had it in Gossip Girl. And he said, entourage, right? Knew I heard it. Yeah. Mo for the next season. Keep us up with them. You're signing to his label. Billy Boy on Poison: Keefer is a good guy. Keefer has really been here for us. He believes in us a lot.
Does it save money on security and stuff having Jack Bauer as your, you know, the head of your label? Billy Boy on Poison: No, I don't really think we need security, but it is funny to see what he does, just because basically if you see anything bad that Keefer has done, I'm just going to think it's cool. It's going to make him cooler. Make him look like more of a human being. So, I say give him a break.
Lads, how did it all start? How'd you come together? Billy Boy on Poison: Well, the band started about three years ago. It all started just a couple guys wanting to play some music. A few little mixes here and there and there you have it.
Who are your influences? Billy Boy on Poison: The Rolling Stones, White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, Brian Jones, Tom Masher, The Beatles.
What would you compare your music to? It takes a huge influence on classic rock, David Bowie, The Stones, as you mentioned. But it also has such a young, modern feel to it. Billy Boy on Poison: I kind of want to bring back that old dirty feel, but by doing it all different.
Very poetic lyrics, which brings me onto your arm. All right. It says, I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving, hysterical, naked. Nice. Was there any point during having the tattoo that you thought, is there any way I can make this poem shorter? Billy Boy on Poison: No, I wanted to make it longer if I could get.
But your arm's not long enough. Hate that. Any collaborations you'd like to do? Anyone out there that you'd like to Billy Boy on Poison: Jack White, please. Josh Home, Queens of the Stone Age.
So you're all from LA. When you're not making music, what do you do? Billy Boy on Poison: We play a lot of card games. And make silly movies, write silly music, finger painting. We just like to fool around, stay young. We like to stay young.
