The star of the show. Gus. Gus knows to come into, look, Gus knows that we're talking about him. Gus knows that as soon as we say we're rolling, he's gonna come into the shot.

All you got are your friends. Everybody should have one or two or more. Don't you think?

I know you both grew up in Malibu and, and the music is such a reflection of that. Tell me a little bit about sort of your growing up and your sort of how you got into the whole music scene.

Yeah, I mean we definitely grew up, you know, going to the beach and surfing and and uh, you know, the music that is associated with that is kind of the music we listened to a lot, you know. We always wanted our music to reflect, you know, who we are 'cause I feel like that's the most honest music. So, um, yeah, we just we have a great time making music and I think that that comes across as well.

from the long beaches to ordinary people all over the place. You go on and say what we got going on. Don't lie, you know it now.

So, I know growing up your dad being, stepdad being David Foster and your dad John Fielder, I know you guys have sort of like not gone down the path of using that. You sort of done your own thing.

We're very fortunate that we were able to at least be exposed to music at a very young age. You know, that we kind of grew up just around it, you know, I grew up spending a lot of time in the studio, not even really knowing what was going on, but through those formative years you were just around it a lot. And I know the same thing for her, she tells stories about your dad bumping you on the knee to music when on his knee to music when you were really young, you know.

To get the rhythm?

To get the rhythm and stuff.

I never was a one for love. I'm not a good to be back. Summer's got to be the more and if you come on, you'll see.

You guys know each other from what grade, what what grade did you first?

I think um, middle school for sure. I think specifically I think I was in the sixth grade when I met you. Yeah. So we've we've known each other for a long time.

You weren't very nice when we first met.

Really? Was it that sort of kidding? I was gonna say maybe that was old enough that you don't like pull the hair of the girl that you like.

Well no, she was he was older. He was a come a grade older and I think he just thought he was too cool.

Did you think you were too cool? For Come on. Did you think you were too cool?

I guess I did. I didn't I didn't think so.

I never thought so. No, he didn't.

So your videos, I love your videos because they're not like, you know, there's there's a lot of videos that are just sort of videos and you really don't have you really don't know what's the what the story is. But your videos are like a short film. Vaseline in particular at the end you two sort of go riding off into the sunset together.

Which was very interesting during the filming of the video. Riding the horse and shooting blanks off the horse and having to run through the desert on this horse. It was very adventurous. We didn't know how to ride a horse.

Oh, you didn't. I was gonna say you looked like experts. You'd never know. Get actors.

Well, we we I I had a The fear on my face was really not acting.

Shooting the shit you know that I'm going to be throwing a fit. Everybody's one and only. Does anybody care about anything anyhow? Everybody's acting like a zombie. I got a rock in my pocket gonna break this glass. It's gonna cut myself loose from the upper class because it's a semi-charm life with a box of bells for everything.

I feel like it's important for our music not only to be happy. I feel like that's one emotion that we have but more than anything, I feel like it's important for our music to be real and reflect real feelings and emotions that we are we are individually and collectively going through. Right.

I got a rock in my pocket going to break this glass. Going to cut myself loose from the upper class cause it's a semi-charm life with a box of pills for all everything.

So, if you were gonna have three people over living or dead to this fabulous place and you were gonna throw a little dinner party and then do a little jam session in the studio after, who would the three people be that you would choose?

John Lennon.

Jimi Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix would be one. Uh, Bob Marley would be one. Yes. And also Chris Farley because I feel like he'd be a lot of fun.

Yeah, you said it a while, but it's true. She's always I would love to hang out with Chris Farley. I would just want him to come over and be at one Thanksgiving dinner.
