I'm here with this young gentleman, Jake Miller. How you doing, man?

I'm good, mate. How are you?

I'm good. I'm glad to be here. You're everywhere right now.

Yes. It's exciting. Exciting times. Very exciting. Yes, brand new album, 12 songs. My proudest work to date and uh, I'm glad that the fans have loved it.

They have loved it. You just performed "A Million Lives."

Yes.

Which was your, the record that blowed up first, right?

Yeah, it was my first single, and um, it's a fan favorite, so I put it on this new album, um, even though it was on the last EP. So I just, I love the song, I love the video, and it touches a lot of my fans. So, I love performing that song.

But talking about the music, yeah, you you're very popular right now. And you've been on this amazing tour. I looked at your schedule, and it's like every single night.

November 1st, we started, and we have, we go all the way till December 23rd. It's a 43-city tour. We're 53 days on the road. Nine of us in, in a bus, and we're just touring the entire country. My heart ignites. When our eyes collide. Oh, oh, yeah.

What has been your favorite show so far?

Um, I've had a lot. I mean, LA last night was amazing. A lot of great people came out to that, a lot of my friends, family, um, obviously the fans. It really doesn't matter the size of the crowd. It's just the energy, and any given night, any given city, could be one of the best shows of the tour.

Where haven't you been on tour that you you'd like to go on your next tour?

I would love to go overseas, maybe. I've done, I've hit a little bit of Canada, I'd love to hit a little bit of Europe. I've never been to Europe. I would love to do that. But yeah, I just next year I just plan to continue to keep touring the country, Europe, Canada, wherever, wherever life takes me.

And you're you're rappin', but what I love is you're smiling as well.

Yes.

There's a lot of angry rappers out there, isn't there? I don't wanna say any names right now, but Kanye West. Um, a lot of angry rappers out there, but you always smile. Do you think that's a, that's a good way to approach rap music now, in a, in a positive way?

Yeah, I mean, I think that's kind of what makes me different, to be honest. Um, I wouldn't really consider myself a hip-hop artist, an urban artist. I would consider myself a pop artist that raps. Pp. Pp. Pp.

You said that before?

I've said it before. I love it. Pp. Yeah. But um, it's music that like anyone could really relate to. In the crowd, you never really know what kind of people are gonna show up, but I I think that's what that's what really appeals about my music. It relates to everybody.

Well, and the lyrics are very personal. Where do you draw the inspiration from?

It depends what I'm writing about. If it's about a girl, then one special girl, it comes.

He's got a little grin on his face. Is there a special girl right now?

There is. Yeah, my fans know that. Um, I've had a girlfriend for a while, and uh, yeah, she's been supporting me from the beginning, so.

You can't stop grinning. Look. Aw, is he swingin'?

You're gonna make me blush. I'm gonna make him blush too. It happened so fast. There were so many days that I'd doubt would be my last. However, the fight was tough, and the battle was long, but I felt strong when I listened to your songs. You were always there for me. You helped my heart beat. You were my only friend. Kept you on repeat. I thank God for you every single night. Believe it or not, you saved my life. And then I also have songs on the album, like one called "Puppet." How I just feel kind of like a puppet right now. Like so many voices in my ear, so many people tellin' me what to do. So, every song that I write is based on what I experience, what I know, and uh, gotta be real to myself when I write.

Exactly. Keepin' it real.

And who are your musical inspirations?

Um, I think Drake is my favorite musical artist. Um, as for like a role model, I would say Justin Timberlake. Just because he's kind of done the exact path that I want to do with music, with acting, dancing. He's funny. He's kind of just like a triple threat, which is, which is what I want to do. I wanna be like an overall great entertainer. Just like what he is.

And he's what, he's been in the industry for how long?

Quite a while. Yeah.

You've got some years yet.

Yeah, exactly. So if if I can still be around for that long, that'll be.

You're on the right track.

I hope so.

Um, show wise, you've done some touring, I mean, like Ne-Yo's been there, you've done a lot of shows with some big people.

Yeah.

Is there anyone in particular that you would love to tour with or get on stage with?

Um, I haven't met Drake or performed with him, I'd love to do that. Um, even Justin Bieber. I'm a big fan of Justin Bieber. But um, over the last two years, we've pretty much performed and shared the stage with everybody, everyone on my iPod, whether it's Macklemore, Fall Out Boy, anybody. And um, even to this day, I still get, I still get starstruck when I see them.

Any New Year's resolutions, any? Um, Is it going great? I guess not.

Yeah, things are going great. I mean, I really, I just feel like everything is going great right now. Everything, I've never been happier, I've never been in a better place. Um, next year, I just, with Warner Brothers, I just plan to, not change, but just blow everything that we've built up on a much larger scale, um, and just take over the world next year.

How how do you intend on doing that? Okay, well, person. Um, I wanted the secrets. Jake Miller secrets on taking over the world.

Yeah, I mean, I don't really have those secrets yet. I'll let you know once I've done it, but uh, that's that's my plan.

And being so young, have you learned, you must have learned a lot very quick.

Yeah.

Is there one thing that sticks out in this in this Hollywood, this music industry, that you've learned?

Yeah, definitely. I, the whole "A Million Lives" topic that we were talking about, I think it's the one thing that has really opened my eyes is that it's not, it's not as important to put out songs that are catchy with good hooks, with good beats. It's more important to put out music that's really gonna make a difference and um, spread positivity to to people. And um, every single day I get fan mail telling me how my music has has helped people, how it has changed their lives. It's just that kind of stuff is what really gets to me and what really touches me.

Important. It's important. Um, and how, one last question. How on Earth do you remember the words to my songs? I know they're your songs, but they're still so many. How many words do you say like?

I think when you're like an artist, it's different. It's like, I wrote those words, they came from my mind.

Still you say them so quickly. It's like, how do you remember your middle name? Like, like that's to me, like how easy it is. Yeah, but that's what I mean, because rapping or hip-hopping, there's still an art to that. Like, you're you're speaking very quickly. Do you do any mouth exercises like, Nope. On the King's Speech?

No, nothing like that.

Uh, brown cow, uh, brown cow. See, you do.

No, I don't. You do do it. I don't. I don't. I don't do any exercises.

I think remember, see look, remembering your middle name is a lot easier than the words that he spits out very quickly. Um, Jake Miller, he's everywhere. If you haven't seen him, you will very soon. Um, pleasure.
