Hey what's up Young Hollywood? We're at Blue Microphone, this is your boy Matteo and uh we're at the studios here where we make all the magic happen, all the music and I want to take you on a little tours, just to show you kind of what I do and how I make the music and it's this happens all here. We got the soundboard here where you know, you can check all the levels and I'm like, yo, turn me up. Turn me up. You all know this guy. What's going on, ya'll? This is the infinitely talented dude. True artist, I had to sign him. It was my duty when I heard his music, so y'all going to see what I mean.

What's up Young Hollywood, it's Michelle Marie. We are here in the studio with this man right here, Matteo. We also got Kaduce over here. Tell us about your music.

A lot of people describe it as pop R&B. It's R&B. It has some soul in it, but it's also pop but it has a little bit of alternative rock to it. So it's like a lot of different things.

I've read that you really want to make people feel again with the music.

You know like when you had like you were in a relationship or there was a certain like life moment and you remembered the song that spoke to that moment, I think that that's what music should do, like it should remind you. Like 10 years from now, it should remind you of a, like a moment in time in your life and it should touch you um, not just from a headbop level, but like from a heart level, you know?

Everyone knows you from MTV, TRL and you've been, you know around artists for a very long time. What is it about him, you know that you loved and made you wanna, you know take him on?

He can really sing and he sings from his heart, from his soul. It's like this. I'm going to put it to you, I rarely quote Diddy but Diddy said that he will never sign anything that doesn't give him goosebumps when he listens to it. He won't rock for it. And that's pretty much my MO.

So let's talk about your mixtape project, Underneath This Sky.

It's like a love story, it's going to be different chapters and every song is a part of this story about a girl and we're shooting a video for it and everything. And it's going to be pretty dope, actually. Listen girl, you're quite peculiar. Yeah. Cause all the while you've been hiding from us all.

You have a little Robin Thicke in you.

I'm a huge fan of Robin Thicke. I love people that are acoustic, people like India. Arie especially artists that are piano based that start off with piano like Alicia Keys. I I love her, John Legend, Coldplay.

What is your process creatively? Do you usually start with the piano? Do you usually get a verse together?

I started with the piano. Like I'll start playing from chords and then kind of come up with a melody from there and then come up with words. And you try to find a direction with no mistakes, no, no.

So let's talk about complicated.

This is a story that many especially guys go through where they're actually thinking like, I might be in love with this person, you know, but I'm not the type to be like falling in love. I just want to be you're walking away from your heart. You know, but you just gotta give it up. It's not in danger, no. It's kind of like that tussle between the two sides of yourself, like your heart and then your ego, you know?
