Welcome to Young Hollywood. Hey guys, Tatiana Dieteman here on the set of Kevin Cossom’s new music video called, “Baby I Like It”, featuring Fabolous and Diddy. Let’s go check it out.

[Music] Kevin, Kevin, Kevin! Today is a big day for you. Big day, big day, really big day. So tell me about this song. Is it more like a club banger, or is this like a…I know you do a lot of love songs.

Nah, it’s an all day club. It’s club all day. It’s a very high energy type song, club banger that, you know, it’s for the ladies.

[Music] So how do you, on your first single, get names like Diddy and Fabolous working with you?

As far as with Diddy, and the Fab situation, you know, I think I would credit that to just a lot of the work that I was doing before.

So you just Diddy and you’re like, “Yo, Diddy, I’m about to drop an album,” and he’s like, “Alright.”

Nah, not quite like that, not quite like that.

So for people who don’t know, you didn’t just poof out of thin air. You’ve been doing music for a very long time. You’ve been behind the scenes, behind some really big names like Keri Hilson, Mary J. Blige…who else?

Chris Brown, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross.

Fabolous, he’s on this joint right now. So for all your lady fans out there, what would make you say, “Baby, I like it” to them? What do you like? What does Kevin like?

I like good skin, I like pretty eyes. Um, I like a woman that’s well groomed.

I’m like batting my eyes at you as you say this. I’m like, I have pretty eyes too, Tatiana.

Yes, yes.

[Music] So was Fabolous here on the set of the newest music video for Kevin Cossom? It’s a pretty big deal for him. His first music video. How’d you get involved?

From our first relations…our first meeting in Miami, working on my project, like he stuck it out and made sure that the finished project was was was great and something that I was pleased with and satisfied with.

So are you excited about this song today?

Um, yes, because um I was always a fan of the song from before I even jumped on it. And now I’m on it, and now we gettin’ a chance to um show it in a visual state to the rest of the world.

So Diddy’s on this album too. Did you guys get to all work together?

Um, I’m a good friend of Diddy’s so we didn’t work together, but you know like we ended up being great uh working together because you know, we already had a natural friendship and relationship, so…

Are there any collaborations on your new album that you you really want to work with? Somebody in the future that you haven’t been able to work with yet?

Yeah, I definitely want to work with Eminem. Um, I’d like to work with Jadakiss.

What about Willow Smith? You wanna like whip your hair back and forth with her?

I don’t really have any hair to whip, so

But you could get extensions.

Uh, but then it’s not being real, you know what I mean?

[Music] How did you get involved with this crazy little single?

Um, well I actually made the music.

Oh! That was you?

That was me, yeah. That was me. That’s me on those 808s.

So how’d you guys link up? I know you didn’t meet on Facebook or like Friendster. And crazy like, ah!

Nah, that’s it. I’m gonna tell you how he came in, actually.

Tell me how he came in.

He just walked in. He just had a fitted cap kind of like this.

Who was the cap? That’s what I need to know.

It’s it actually, it’s a Kansas City blue fitted, and he just had a white beat on. So that just let me know, it was really very ignorant and arrogant of him. But that just let me know that he’s a rockstar.

You guys think you’re gonna work on a lot of more, a lot more tracks together?

Definitely. We actually were nominated for a Grammy on a record called “Knock You Down.”

No big deal, just a Grammy.

Yeah, definitely. You know, nomination.

So I’m gonna put you on the spot and ask you what’s your favorite thing about working with Kevin.

He never let me down when I’m when I’m in a studio with, uh, with anybody or whether it’s himself. He never let me down with what he come up with, melodically and lyrically. It’s just all a marriage.
