I'm great, how are you?

What was the inspiration for you behind the album?

The inspiration for my new album, it's called Gravity Happens, and I moved from Ohio to California like a year and a half ago and I started writing this. And it was, yeah, it's a big move because it's different. The record is fun and summery and but it's also very deep and honest and kind of rootsy.

What would you say was your favorite? Take it in my.

My favorite song is a song called Sandcastles, which is a song about I was walking on the beach and I saw a bunch of little kids who were making sandcastles and I was going through some challenging stuff in my life and I thought, wow, it's a lot easier to make sandcastles than make some of these adult life decisions right now. But the song's about how, you know, even though sometimes we wish we were a kid, you know, what kind of pulls you through the growing up stuff is music, or at least for me, it's music.

So, whose musically influenced you as you're coming up as a musician?

I grew up on stuff that my parents loved, like Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Carol King, these are like classic organic songwriter. People who just sort of evoke this, this raw folks sound that could have been popular kind of any time in history.

I just can't stop staring at your glasses.

Thank you. I'm obsessed with these right now. Basically what I did was I used some of the drawings and paintings that inspired my new album artwork. Oakley was like, let's take those designs and turn them into a signature sunglasses.

Do you have a dream collaboration? Somebody that you could work with, who would it be?

Right now, I'm really obsessed with Eddie Vedder. And I mean, I've always been obsessed with Eddie Vedder and God, he's just so good. So that would be like my pie in the sky collaboration.
