CNCO Name Their Best Dancer, Reveal Biggest Challenges, & More
About this video
We've learned a lot about CNCO over this past year, but there's still so much to know about these Latin Pop princes, like who's the best dancer and their pre-show rituals, so Young Hollywood catches up with the five talented singers backstage at the Avalon Hollywood as they get ready for another rousing gig! In this edition of Backstage Diaries, Christopher, Richard, Zabdiel, Joel, and Erick spill all the tea about their lives and their career, from life on the road and their favorite parts of performing live to what they have learned between album releases and how they want to be remembered. They also discuss what it means to them to be able to share their roots and culture in their music and see it go mainstream, plus they tell us about some of the personal challenges they face now that they are internationally recognized artists!

(light upbeat music) (heavy upbeat music) (tropical music) To have all these sounds from different countries, we all have different experience, different music that we listen to when we were small, when we were little, you know? So, all that kind of brought it together as CNCO. I feel like that's the core of CNCO. You know, the different sound that we have and just the variety of things we can do with our sounds. You know? (tropical hip hop music) What's up everybody we are-- CNCO and welcome to our Backstage Live. Yeah. (trumpet music) CNCO, I think is a group accomplishing their dreams. For me, CNCO means everything. CNCO changed my life. This was the opportunity to change my life.
And it is the opportunity to make my dreams come true. Doing what we love, traveling the world and getting to meet new people. Trying to inspire as much people as we want. We really love-- accomplish our dreams as a family. Like another four brothers. (heavy pop music plays) The best dancer, I mean you know, I will include me. You know, always. All the time. I think I'm the best dancer-- No I'm just kidding. No I think it's between these two right here. These two have always been into dancing, but I think everyone has like their own flow. You know? In dancing. And we all enjoy it so. We all have our own flow. Each and one us have kind of our different flow, you know. And it's cool.
That's what makes CNCO CNCO, you know? That we all have our different things. (crowd cheering) For sure. In the band, the most stylish, of course, could be me. Yeah. That's all. I never have like a same style so I think like it's represent my emotion everyday. If I feel well, I dress cool. If I feel bad, I dress like super horrible. But yeah, I think at least for me it's that. (tropical hip bop music) I think it's cool to be part of this wave. You know, Latin music is very popping right now so it feels like, you know, our roots are being recognized everywhere and they're being accepted, you know? And then it's super cool to just have that and have the world dancing to our music.
Music that we grew up with too, you know? Going on tour with CNCO is really cool. We really go to go around. The cities that we go, meet a lot of new CNCOers via whole new countries. (laughing) Cultures, food. It's really cool. I love it. So going on tour with the guys is obviously super fun, you're never alone. If you wanna party after the concert, you can go and party. If you wanna write a song, you can write with me. If wanna play games, it's super cool. Going on tour with CNCO is super fun. It's a... I can't even think of the word in English. (speaking foreign language) So I think my favorite part in a stage, is just feel the crowd. Feel the people, how they sing our song.
How they support us. Oh and the dance. (rhythmic music) I would describe our show as a really hyped show. A lot of energy. A lot of choreo, singing harmonies. A lot of pyro. A lot of screams. (laughing) That's it. With the guys, we like to do like a handshake before we go to the stage and we pray. We always pray before each show. C-N-C-O Ow. Would I prefer performing or writing? I think both. They both a super cool experience. It's our favorite thing to do to be honest. Being in the studio and being on stage is like, that's what we are, who we are. That's what we do, what we do. Music for me is everything. Without music, there's no happiness. There's no love. There's nothing.
A big challenge for us, that we still have, is that we don't see our family a lot. And sometimes we miss our family a lot. But they know that all this, we do it for them. And thanks to them we are here. The hard work sometimes doesn't even feel like hard work because it's something that we love. And everything that we do that has to do with the career makes us happy. Yeah, we enjoy every single moment of it. (upbeat rhythmic music) I think from the first album to the second album we learned a lot. And we grow. And like artists and like a person too. I think in the second album and this new one that is coming out, we are more involved in the writing. And we are more involved in the lyrics.
And I think we grow more this album. I think one thing that we wanna be remembered for is we were always genuine, you know? We're always genuine. We're always working hard, you know? We're always super dedicated, you know? I feel like that's also something to remember. And just the difference that we made in music. You know? We're the first boy band that sang reggaeton. (upbeat rhythmic music) And yeah the compliment that we have between each other, that since we're from different countries, you know, it's cool. So I want every one to remember... That we did history. We did something in the music. And a lot of people, like, knew our music.
Wanted like a-- (speaking foreign language) Leave a mark. Yeah, leave a mark in the music and do history. (upbeat music) (splashing)
