Welcome to Young Hollywood.com. I'm Oliver Trevena from Young Hollywood here with the marvelous, talented Gin. Here she is. Look at her, a little bubble of joy. Hello.
Where exactly are you from?
Well, I'm actually from New Zealand originally, but I'm living in Australia now.
You won the international songwriting contest. 77 countries, over 11,000 songs.
Coming from having two songs and entering into this competition that I thought I'd never win anything with. And been here and releasing records in Australia, New Zealand, and America and, yeah, it's mutual.
Perez Hilton recently blogged about you, I read it. All these blogs absolutely love you. I mean, the queen of media. You can't get much more love than that if he's on your side.
I know. It's it's mutual. I'm stocked that he's loving it. I mean, it would be a bit of a different story if he wasn't, wouldn't it?
Who would you compare yourself to? Your sound. Your very individual sound.
I don't know, it's a bit of a crazy voice, so husky-ish voice with um kind of just fun tunes and and some heartache tunes.
Who would you love to collaborate with?
I'd love to collaborate with Dr. John. That'd be awesome.
Who did you listen to growing up?
Um, well, I was a bit of a geek actually. I listened to all the you know, those kind of soundtracks from Labourah and Phantom of the Opera and
So I trying to another answer that I really didn't think you was going to say.
Yeah, well, there you go. Keep it keep it surprising. Edith Piaf is a huge favorite of mine and and Neil Young and Crosby, Stills and Nash and and Debbie Harry and Blondie and all that kind of stuff.
Desert island. One song for the rest of your life that has to play through your ears. And this is the only song you could ever hear again. What song would it be?
Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.
I thought you were gonna say Don't Stop Moving by S Club 7. That would have thrown me off once again. But that one, I'm tossing those two up, actually.
