Welcome to younghollywood. com. I'm Oliver Trevena here with the gorgeous Gabriella Cilmi. How are you love?
I'm good, how are you?
I'm good, I'm good. You're here in Los Angeles and you're promoting your "Lessons to be Learned" album. Everywhere else, it's huge. I mean, when I was back in London at Christmas, it was played all the time, so.
Yeah, um, I've kinda, well I've toured my album 'round, like the UK, and 'round Europe, and Australia, which is cool. It's doing really, really well in Germany, like it's massive in Germany, which is pretty sweet. I love Berlin.
So you're tearing up everywhere. Now you're ready for Stateside, that's how it's gonna be.
Yes, yes.
So "Lessons to be Learned" it's called. Is that because you're trying to learn lessons? Because you can learn some lessons from me and like,
I guess, I don't know, it's just a lyric that just kept on popping up in all of my songs, so.
Your single that was hitting and blowing up was "Sweet About Me" which actually the lyric before it is "nothing sweet about me." So, there is nothing sweet about you, is that true?
That's very true.
Why is that?
I don't know, it's where I've been brought up.
Okay, obviously not the most charming girl but she looks great. Nothing sweet about her at all. So, um, on that note, what have you got planned while you're in Los Angeles?
I played my first gig last night, at the Hotel Cafe, which was really nice.
Thanks for the invite.
And yes, sorry about that, it was only VIP's only.
I made the list, so sorry about that. I'm a bit hurt at the moment, but you know, gobsmacked. Didn't get an invite to the show, so, um, obviously, don't really know what to say to that. Let's take a little walk, let's go down Sunset Boulevard. Now, music-wise, who are your inspirations? Who are your, like, you know, who'd you grow up listening to?
You know, I love like Janis Joplin. I used to be obsessed with Robert Plant when I was like younger, he was like my idol. So I kinda used to think I was like the female Robert Plant. I'm a massive Kings of Leon fan.
I love the Kings of Leon. Yes, I was a fan five years ago. So, who would you like to collaborate with?
Cat Stevens would be awesome. I don't know, Justin Timberlake, Matt Bellamy from Muse, Beck.
She's already torn up half the world. Now it's the Stateside's turn. So you're doing very well young lady. It's been a pleasure.
Thank you. Thanks.
