Where's the machine?

Um they're about. I don't quite know where they are. I lose them sometimes. Yeah. Is that that's the trouble with machines, isn't it? They just disappear. They get missing. coming to water still no turning back

Um talking about fashion, have you seen some funky styles at uh Coachella?

I did. There's a lot of like, but I mean it's more about like less clothes I think

Right.

than than than more Coachella. I saw a lot of bikinis. But I it's quite hot in the desert. Like girls in bikinis on bicycles, strong.

Yeah, you like your sunglasses. Look, these are new ones. Right there. What? It's a lot of subways. Subways of New York. And you can find your way around and keep the sun out of your eyes. That's what exactly what they're for. It saves having a map and sunglasses. Um they're just sunglasses and a map, which would make them I was going to try and do one of them things where you put the words together, but Smapglasses. Smap Oh my God, they're smaps. The new smaps from Ray-Ban. Your new single, "Dog Days Are Over". You got to run my from the heights

This song originated from there's a um a Mexican artist called Ugo Rondinone. And he does these amazing installations using like these 70s I'm going to let you picture it. Uh these like 70s rainbow bubble letter in England there was one on side of the Southbank that said dog days are over, and I used to see that when I was riding my bicycle, not in a bikini. Uh Definitely not in London you'd be very strange. Very weird. Um but I used to see that and it just completely inspired the song.

And that's from your album Lungs. Where does that title come from? Very interesting titles.

Well, it's the kind of it's the first one I thought of apart from all the joke ones. Like Um the ice cream, I'll just take the cake and I think I punched the waiter. Okay. That was a good one. Okay. That hasn't been used before, so you could have in fact used that. But Lungs was the first serious one I thought of, and I knew it was the right one cuz um

Because you're lungs?

Well, no, and also Between Two Lungs was the first song I really wrote where it I kind of felt like it was the right sound, and I knew where I wanted to take the rest of the album. So, Between Two Lungs is sort of the title track and being a singer, your lungs are so important. That's your instrument. Yeah. Oh.

Any rare finds at Coachella? Like bands, any new bands that you've seen play that you're like, wow, I haven't heard of them and I love them. Or even haven't heard of them then I don't like them.

You know what, it's funny cuz like you like write, let's not go and see bands with friends with, let's go and find new bands. It didn't happen. We saw who who do we need to see? Like The XX, Big Pink, everyone I've been on tour with and known for about eight years. But it's kind of hard not to see them as well, isn't it? They were great though, so it was definitely worth it.
