Nikki Novak here for the Young Hollywood Network on the red carpet at the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
If I knew that, I would never have another failure in my life.
I know about any of your failures. That's exactly. I don't go around publicizing that. Hi Nigel, how are you? Very nice to see you.
Thank you, Nikki.
Let's talk about singing and dancing. So so you think you can dance is nominated this evening. American Idol, I know there's been a lot of talk about the judges. How excited are you? It's like the biggest sort of the most star studded roster, I think you've had.
Well, and I was thrilled with Jennifer and Stephen Tyler. Not that that's bad. Hello. Um, it's it's funny that when we started, we had people here that either, you know, people have said were passed it with Paula or unheard of with Simon Cowell and never heard of with Randy Jackson, and we became the hugest show on television. So it isn't just about star power for me. It's about the chemistry with these judges, and I think we've got good chemistry this year.
How many people do you have to turn away? How many people are calling you when you're
Goodness me. I mean, if we see between 18 and 20,000 uh, in a stadium. We actually get down to about 120 in front of the judges.
So you think you can dance has been such a phenomenal success as well. How do you sort of know that the public is going to clue into something like this?
You never really know. You can just put together what you believe the public want. Uh, the public don't always know what they want. Things grow on them with things like Idol and Dance. I never dreamt Dance would be successful. And here we are nine seasons later, you know. You think I think there could be a reality show based on the red carpet. There's so much that goes on behind the scenes. Certainly cameras following everybody. But I've got a new um singing show. Not that anyone wants it right now.
Oh, I want more. I can never get enough. You've seen these chairs that revolve?
Well, they start listening, and if the kid's no good, they hit the button. They turn around the other way. What do you think?
Gosh, I don't know about that.
