Hey, how are you?
How are you feeling?
Excited. I can't wait to get to hosting this award show.
Gronk, you? Looking at the slime, how do you feel?
No, I'm ready. You know that pool of slime right there, you know I'm gonna probably be in it.
I was gonna say, do you think you'll be in it?
Someone's gonna end up in there. Oh, I should probably do a what's what's that, you know, a cannonball into it.
Yes. Into it. You think it's that deep? You think it's pretty deep, it's slime?
Hopefully it's at least four feet.
Yeah. For you.
Yes, for me.
Okay, so Gronk, do you remember your first ever sit-down interview? I think was with Young Hollywood.
Yes, it was, and it was with my brothers and my dad was there too. Yes, that was about like 10 years ago. I do remember that.
Yes, and your dad was there. Do you think, did you ever think you'd be like back in like the Hollywood lights hosting the Kids Choice Awards?
Um, not then. I never thought I would be here, um, at this stage. You know, I've been at a couple Kids Choice Award shows. I was a captain at the Kids Choice Sports Awards show, actually here, uh, right here at the same location. That was about two or three years ago, and let me tell you, that was one of my favorite shows I've ever been a part of. And it was just great to be a captain, uh, of of one of the teams too. And uh, just all the activities that was going on. All the kids yelling and screaming. It was just an adrenaline rush, and it was a lot of fun.
Yeah, for sure. And Miranda, you've been here for years and years and years.
Yeah, it was the first award show that I ever went to as a kid. Um, when I was eight years old was the first time I ever came. So to get to, um, be a host now is just not anything I ever thought would happen. So I'm super excited.
Did you remember, so like, how did you guys get the call or asked to host?
Um, they just kind of called and said like, "Would you be interested in hosting with Rob?" And I was like, "Yeah, that'd be awesome. That'd be so much fun." And I know we're gonna get slimed probably pretty hard because I don't think any host like makes it out alive. Yeah. But I'm looking forward to it.
And for anybody at home watching, what is the slime feel like? Like, what's it like having it in your mouth and in your eyes? You know, better than anyone.
Two weeks ago, I got super slimed at a promo. It was for about 40 seconds long by like five slime guns, and uh, it's cold, it's chilly. It makes you feel like strong after you get hit though cuz you know when you get that cold feeling, like your body tightens up a little bit. And uh, it it doesn't taste good. It went all in my mouth, it went out my nose. I mean, it's safe if it does it your eyes or if it goes up your nose or you accidentally swallow a little a little bit. With that that's good. I mean It's okay. Yeah. I mean, you don't want to. You don't want to, but I'm saying like if it's an accident like, if you get too much that hits you. But uh, it's something you really don't wanna actually be slime like, you know, all over on your body. And it's really hard to get off. I had to take three showers that night too.
How how many times have you been slimed? Have you been slimed yet?
I've been slimed maybe 10 times in my life. But I haven't in years. So I haven't in like six years. Until maybe Saturday.
Until Saturday. Oh, here it goes.
And you're trying to set a world record of a thousand slimes in one show.
Yeah, we're trying to set a record. Um, we're gonna have a bunch of the numbers up behind us during the whole show, and we're gonna be counting all the slimes and trying to make it to 1,000.
And so do you have your guys' outfits picked out for the carpet and all the all on all the stage shots?
Yes, uh, this is actually one of my outfits right here. This is my press outfit. And I was like, "Whoa, this is pretty cool." You know, I never hosted really, and now they have a stylist for me, which is, you know, I'm usually just uh, shorts and t-shirt guy with sandals and like, or you know, gym clothes and go to the gym. But uh, so I got like five different pairs of outfits. This was one of them. I had one last night for uh, when I was on Jimmy Kimmel. And then uh, I got three for the show throughout the show while hosting. So, it's really cool, and I'm excited for all the different looks.
Yeah. And Miranda, you have your iconic green jacket that you wore for your first red carpet, right? You remember that?
Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's I'll never forget that jacket. It was quite a choice.
Looking great. Would you, would you ever reenact that? Would you wear that on Saturday?
That would actually be hilarious if I wore that. I wish I would've thought of that. Um, and made that facial expression. I don't know if I'll ever be that confident again ever though, so.
I bet a lot of people have brought that picture back up to you in the past couple days.
Yeah, I've been seeing it a lot. Just the pose, the whole thing. I can't even believe.
But like, how it started vs. how it's going is pretty good. I mean, now you're a host of the KCAs. So.
That's true. Maybe that confidence was there for a reason. I guess so. I love it.
And you have your buddy's nominated for uh, Kids Choice Award, Tom Brady. Have you talked to him about it?
Actually, no. I I haven't talked to him about it yet, but um, I'm gonna give him a call within the next 48 hours before the show starts. And I'm gonna wish him luck, and um, you know, hopefully he wins. That would be pretty cool. I'm the host, my buddy's winning an award. That'd be pretty amazing. So, hopefully he's here. You know.
Oh, Rob, have you ever watched iCarly?
Yes, of course.
Were you a fan of Miranda before? Like, how did you guys, did you, when did you actually meet in person? You on the spot.
During the promos that we did.
Okay, so that was the first time.
Yes, and then actually I was watching uh, Nickelodeon the other day, and iCarly was on. And uh, it was an episode I remembered I saw years ago. When they were trying to what was it? They're they're you guys were making a ding it. I just saw it. I you guys were trying to make a show. And uh, And things weren't going well or something? Yeah. I I can't believe I'm going blank right now. I'm just I just I'm just. Yeah, I'm just struck right now. Just with Miranda next to me and me talking about one of her shows, but uh, I I actually am a big iCarly fan. I watched it many many times growing up. And uh, it's just really cool just to be right here with Miranda and co-hosting on a Nickelodeon uh Kids Choice Award show.
Do you think you'd ever make a cameo in iCarly? The new. You think?
Hey Miranda, am I gonna make a cameo?
We were talking about it. Yeah, I got to now. I got to now. You can come anytime.
Do you think you'd ever go on the football field?
I don't think I belong on the football field, I'm not sure. But but you know, like my my dad, I don't I haven't even told you this, but my dad was like freaking out that I get to host the show with you. Like he's so excited.
At least Miranda's dad knew me.
Oh, but you knew. I knew you, but my dad was, that's fine.
Your dad was. That's actually even more bonus points now. Yes.
Yeah. I love it.
Well, thank you guys so much and good luck hosting this Saturday.
Thank you.
Okay, so we just got done with the interview with Miranda and Gronk. And now as you can see, I'm kinda taking you along a little look of the stage behind the scenes. They're setting up. I'm pretty sure Kids Choice Award rehearsals are later today. Um, take a look. You can see all the slime right here. That's gonna be nasty for anybody that's gonna get that all over them. Um, and you have basically like an exclusive behind the scenes look of what happens before the show goes down. So, take a look around.
