Hey, this is Steve Nash from the Phoenix Suns and you're watching Young Hollywood.
Welcome to Young Hollywood. Hey guys, we're here at the Palms in Las Vegas where we're about to sit down and talk to two-time MVP Steve Nash. First and foremost, how does it feel to be two-time MVP?
Uh, it's incredible. You know, I, uh, was a very improbable NBA player, let alone an MVP, so, you know, I had one one scholarship offer to play basketball in college. So, it's been an incredible path my career and I just feel really fortunate I've been able to play as long as I have.
And they're predicting a third MVP championship win. What do you feel that'll do for your career, for your team, for the city?
Well, the MVP is is not something I think about. Um, you know, we're definitely focused on winning a championship this year and you know, we have a great group of guys, talented, we love playing together and, you know, it's uh, it's time we we went and won a championship and uh, I think it'd be fantastic for the city of Phoenix and for the Suns who've never won a championship before.
How do you feel about the the game being in Vegas this year?
I think it's great. I think that uh, the All-Star weekend in Vegas were meant to be together.
Now, you were at the GQ party last night. Some of the players are saying you're a a fashionable guy, which I see here. I don't know about that. Any plans to do something with fashion?
Um, not necessarily. You know, I like I enjoy fashion. I don't necessarily uh, I don't know if I if I'm not fashionable or or take it seriously myself, but I enjoy keeping an eye on fashion and uh, you know, I think it's an exciting world and yeah, it's fun.
Now you also are a great soccer player. Do you find time to play soccer with your basketball career?
I do. You know, it might be, I don't know. I'll take that as a compliment, but it might be a bit of a fantasy that I'm a great soccer player, but I certainly love the game and I play in the summer uh, as much as I can, it keeps me in shape, but I am very, very passionate about soccer. I love it.
Any thoughts on Beckham's move to LA?
Yeah, I think it's really exciting for for soccer in this country. You know, I think obviously uh, you know, he's going to put soccer in all the tabloids and newspapers and magazines and on TV, so, you know, I'm excited that uh, you know, not only is a a quality player coming to the United States, but but somebody who's uh, got a lot of charisma and and the good looks to to make new fans.
Think he's going to have a movie career?
Uh, I don't know.
How about yourself?
Yeah, I doubt it. I don't quite have his looks. You know, I think that's yeah, I guess I guess I'd have to get into it and become a very skilled craftsman.
