Did you eat a lot of Big Macs when you were young?

When I was young, yeah. I used to really love like the Quarter Pounders with cheese, to be honest. But it's a good vibe, you know, it's good to enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon, amongst, you know, having free drinks, enjoying the people, you know.

What's a typical weekend for you?

Man, I like going to the movies, I like going bowling. A typical weekend is probably me trying to think of some ideas to respond to a song, or or me writing, thinking of some ideas for a show. The work don't stop. Then I go to church on Sunday if I can.

How do you actually get in the mode to really write a good hit song?

I get in the mode by just getting in my car, listening to some music, and then I take a ride, man. I ride somewhere where I really like it, and I look around and I just enjoy the environment, and it just put that good spirit and good energy on it, you know? It's just like fun to do it, like it's it's like a release for me.

How do you actually keep it fresh, and how do you make it one of those songs that's great for everybody, not only just, you know, the hip hop world or like the community?

I think one of the most important things is that you be honest and creative, and be true to what you feel is is good. And then with that, you gotta be in tune with what's going on in the world. You can't be shut off from the world. You gotta know that things come in divine time, like you might write ten songs, one song may be that universal mind control, but then the next one may be something else that just only go hit a specific crowd, but you just keep writing it from the heart, you know?

Is there anybody that you have on your horizon right now that you want to work with?

Man, I really like Santigold. I would love to work with her. I love Prince. Prince is dope. And Sade, and Nas. Nas is that raw, he the truth.

Let's talk really quick about your album.

You can expect progressive soul music. The new sound, Neptunes created it. And when you produce an album with NERD, it's sick. I love that NERD Seeing Sounds. That's my favorite album right now.

What's your favorite song?

Soon or later it comes crashing down. Uh-huh. Crashing down. I love it whenever you're around. Yeah, I love it.

We're gonna see collaboration soon. I love it. If there's one thing you could say about your life that you're so most thankful for, what is it?

Man, just being able to wake up and do the things I love to do, like make music and act and be around people that I love. That's the best part of my life. And and being able to pray and talk to God. It's all about being grateful, you know?

Yeah, that's right. That's the truth, definitely.
